At First Sight Frederick, we’re expanding our care to include Diagnostic Obstetric (OB) Ultrasounds—bringing together our expertise, advanced imaging technology, and compassionate approach to serve expecting families in new ways.
What is a diagnostic ultrasound?
Unlike elective keepsake imaging, diagnostic ultrasounds are medical examinations that provide critical insights into your baby’s growth and health, as well as maternal well-being. Every scan is performed by an experienced Registered Diagnostic Sonographer with years of specialized training in OBGYN and fetal echocardiography and reviewed by licensed Perinatologists for the highest level of accuracy and care.

Our diagnostic scans support your provider in monitoring key aspects of your pregnancy, while still offering the comfort and personalized attention you expect from First Sight Frederick.
A doctor’s script is preferred, but not necessary
A diagnostic ultrasound can be performed without a script however, if you do have one, please bring it with you to your appointment. All Diagnostic Ultrasounds are self-pay. We also accept HSA and FSA payments for your convenience.

WHAT WE OFFER
Each scan includes a detailed report provided to your referring physician or midwife.
$100 | 6 weeks +
Viability/Dating Ultrasound
Confirming pregnancy, estimating due dates and gestational age
$150 | Must be done between 11 weeks 5 day – 13 weeks 5 days only.
First-trimester screening that measures the amount of fluid at the back of a developing baby's neck, giving insight into possible risk for chromosomal abnormalities, like Down syndrome, and birth defects.
Nuchal Translucency/
First Trimester Screen
$225 | Recommended 19 weeks - 22 weeks
A complete evaluation of fetal anatomy and related maternal structures.
Anatomy Scan
$120 | 2nd/3rd Trimester
Evaluation of fetal growth, amniotic fluid assessment, and to visualize structures not seen adequately on a prior ultrasound, if needed.
Growth/Limited/Follow-up Scan
$100 | 24 weeks +
Evaluate fetal well-being and amniotic fluid level.
